Compulsory to Wear a Mask in Wuhan, China; Violators Will Be Fined by Public Security

Wuhan City Government announced that in order to combat the pneumonia epidemic, it is now compulsory to wear a mask in public space as a preventive measure. The regulated area includes but no limit to public transportation facilities, shopping malls, restaurants, sports centres, swimming pools and museums. Management companies of the following venues must put a clear sign to remind customers and request them to wear a mask before entering the venue.

The authority added that staff from all statutory bodies and enterprise units should always wear a mask on duty. Management should warn staff who refuse to wear a mask and take necessary disciplinary action in response to non-compliance. Obstruction to the enforcement of the new regulation would be treated as a criminal offence and will be prosecuted and penalized by public security.
