On Friday, Jan 10th, Mr. Miles Guo talked about Saturday’s Taiwan presidential election during his trip to California.
Mr. Guo calls for Taiwanese to vote for President Tsai Ing-wen: “She is like a plain dish of Tufo and cabbage, but she is harmless.”
He described Ms. Tsai’s pro-Beijing opponent Han Kuo-yu as “a lavish banquet with poison”.
Some critics say that President Tsai Ing-wen’s leadership style is “too weak”, but Mr. Guo asks if the world really prefers another strong-headed Carrie Lam, the current Chief Executive of Hong Kong who has been suppressing pro-democracy movement. He said that Tsai Ing-wen has been pushing back Beijing in her low-profile way while the CCP is infiltrating all aspects of Taiwan.
Some Taiwanese-Americans told Mr. Guo that they were hesitant to vote for Tsai Ing-wen only because they do not seek Taiwan’s independence. Mr. Guo said that he does not support Taiwan’s independence either, but “Taiwan will become another Hong Kong if Mr. Han’s party KMT wins the election.” he added.
Mr. Miles Guo also conveyed some “alarming” messages from the U.S. officials:
- The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is highly likely to launch military attacks on Taiwan if Han Kuo-yu wins the election. Mr. Han is a “Trojan Horse” of the CCP. Beijing will not wait much longer before taking over Taiwan after Han’s election. The U.S. has already started to prepare for military conflicts near Taiwan Strait.
- The U.S. will alter its Taiwan policy and impose restrictions on Taiwan if Mr. Han, the CCP’s proxy, becomes the president. Some U.S. congressmen are drafting a bill to prevent the CCP from stealing American military and other advanced technologies or bypassing US sanctions through Taiwan. The legislation will also affect U.S. immigration policy towards Taiwan citizens as well as U.S. passport holders residing in Taiwan. In addition, the bill will punish those pro-CCP Taiwanese living in the U.S.
