Acting Chief Magistrate Criticized Police for Delaying Document Submission

A 24-year-old man was charged with assaulting a police officer inside a police car outside Wong Tai Sin Police Station on August 4.

The case was tried again in Kwun Tong Magistracy on January 3. As always, the defence complained that the prosecution had not provided documents, and the two sides heatedly opposed each other in court on this matter.

Acting Chief Magistrate Ivy CHUI Yee Mei couldn’t hide her anger, and once ordered the police officer in charge to stand up and proceeded to reprimand him, “I couldn’t understand why the police always submit documents at the last minute.”
