Hong Kong Tourism Board announced on December 17 the cancellation of the firework on New Year’s Eve in order to prevent people from gathering, according to HK01.

The event would be changed to an ‘enhanced’ Symphony of Lights, where some buildings near Victoria Harbour would display a small-scale firework show.
