Before the chair election of the Legislative Council House Committee could take place on December 12, pro-Beijing lawmaker Ann Lai-wan Chiang occupied the president’s seat.
She claimed that the goal of the occupation is to complain about the delay caused by the pro-democracy legislators. But in fact, this shows that they are arrogant, despise the law.
Inside the council, Chiang also fired at pro-democracy lawmaker Lam Cheuk-ting, who was filming her inappropriate takeover of the president’s seat. Chiang said, “you cannot take videos here!” Lam replied by telling her “you have no right to occupy the president’s seat!”
