US—The New York Post reported a series of news about Hunter Biden’s three hard drives incident at 5 am on October 14. The news revealed how Hunter Biden introduced the Ukrainian businessman to his father, Joe Biden, and a series of corrupt transaction emails. In addition, the hard drive also contains a lot of files, text messages, photos and videos. According to the New York Post, the hard drives were from a Mac laptop that was sent to a computer shop for repairing in April 2019, and no one ever came to collect this computer.

The news spread quickly on social media after it was released. At 2:20 pm on October 14th, the primary account of the New York Post was blocked by Twitter. The explanation given by Twitter was that the New York Post the content of the posts contained the spread of hacked material and privacy information. Twitter also did not allow users to share the links of Hunter Biden’s scandals. Facebook, meanwhile, issued a statement that it would restrict the posts from New York Post that related to Hunter Biden on its platform because it cannot verify the authenticity.

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley immediately sent a letter to Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, demanding a plausible reason of why Facebook, as a social platform, censors those posts. Soon after that, Holly sent another letter to Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey, strongly blasting Twitter for using unusual methods to interfere with press freedom. On the same day, President Trump also tweeted on his twitter account that social media such as Twitter and Facebook took down the New York Post’s news about Hunter Biden. He said that more things about Biden’s corruption are yet to come. President Trump asked to repel section 230 on his twitter.

Censorship is a unique tool to the dictators, but now American social media are also using censorship to restrict users and the media from their freedom of speech. From this action, we could understand that the giant US social media companies hope to use censorship to strengthen their control on platforms. And more deeply, we can tell that the CCP has infiltrated the social media in U.S through its BGY plan.

The latest news is that the Twitter CEO admitted in his Twitter account that it is ‘unacceptable’ that Twitter blocked users from sharing New York Post-related Hunter Biden news without giving a clear explanation.
