Wang Yi: CCP has no intention to fight a diplomatic war with US, but will not back down if US escalates tension

The Chinese Communist Party’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi talked about the current state of China-US relations on Wednesday in an interview.

Different from his usual tone of a “Wolf Warrior”, Wang mentioned that as CCP-virus takes its toll on the global economy, China and the US, the world’s two largest economies, should work for mutual benefits on an equal footing, stop attempts at decoupling and advance the relationship through cooperation, and live up to their responsibilities for the world.

Chinese dissident Mile Guo said that the CCP would become extremely dangerous when its end is near. Just a couple of days ago, the CCP’s spokesperson threatened to open Pandora’s box again. When Wang Yi mentioned Pandora’s box last year, the CCP spread a deadly pathogen around the world.

Some political commentators have pointed out that the CCP might not provoke the US directly before the election in November, because the real battlefield between the two is the 2020 US presidential election. The CCP is betting on Trump’s defeat for its survival. So the CCP would put up with whatever is thrown at them and focus on meddling with the US election instead.
