U.S. Congress Passed Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act of 2019

This policy act is to “condemn gross human rights violations of ethnic Turkic Muslims in Xinjiang, and calling for an end to arbitrary detention, torture, and harassment of these communities inside and outside China”. The House of U.S. Congress just passed the act this afternoon nearly three months later after the U.S. Senate passed it in September.

Chinese Foreign Ministry has immediately responded “China strongly condemns and opposes the US Uyghur human rights act that smears China’s counter-terrorism and anti-secession work in Xinjiang”.
