Innocent Man Charged With Assault Arrested on Second Mensiversary of Prince Edward Station Incident was Released After 3-month Curfew.
Crowds of citizens gathered outside Prince Edward Station during the 2-month-anniversary of 8.31 Incident in December, requesting MTR to release the CCTV records for verification of the number of injuries. Police dispersed the crowds with rounds of tear gas, leading to a series of conflicts.
A 22-year-old man was charged for assault on police officers, in which he was claimed to elbow a police officer.
Prosecution withdrew the charge after seeking DOJ’s opinion but the defendant had a 3-month curfew executed.
