Hospital Authority Employee Alliance (HAEA) hosted its second special meeting on February 1 to vote on whether a strike next week is necessary to assert pressure on government and Hospital Authority to respond to HAEA’s demands such as “a full border closure”.
The special meeting was not opened to the public from 2 am to 7 pm. During the period, voting was held and votes were counted after 7pm with media monitoring the process.
The 5 demands raised by HAEA, including a full shutdown of the border with mainland China, calling for people in Hong Kong to wear masks, providing adequate isolation wards, tackling patient’s running away incidents seriously, and providing sufficient support to medical staff.
